How to Create A Single Overlay PNG File

In this video, I demonstrate how to efficiently generate a single overlay.png file from a PSD file obtained from photoboothtemplates.com. I guide through steps like opening the template.psd file, minimizing layer groups, hiding specific layers, selecting areas, inverting selections, and applying layer masks.
Steps #
- Open the PSD File
- Open the template.psd file from photoboothtemplates.com.
- Minimize Layer Groups
- Minimize each layer group by clicking the arrow next to it.
- Hide the top two layers.
- Select the Photo Spots
- Hold down the control/command button and left-click on the thumbnail of the photo spots layer.
- Go to Select and choose Inverse to invert the selected area.
- Apply Selection to Background Layer
- Highlight the background layer group.
- Click on the layer mask at the bottom of the layers panel.
- Export as PNG
- Hide the photo spots layer group to reveal the transparent area.
- Export the file as a PNG for use in a Photobooth app.
